Jps files for
Page Flipping or Depthcharge Plug-in. |
Q: I have E-D glasses and H3d.exe but cant make Page
flipping
work, how can I make this work?
A: I cant make it work with h3d.exe either, but if you have an
NVIDIA graphic card and have installed the stereo driver from
NVIDIA's website
then all you need to do is make a shortcut to
C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvstview.exe which
is NVIDIA's stereo viewer that
displays in two modes Anaglyph or Page flipped. I made jps files
open with this viewer and they automatically open in full screen
with the glasses activated,H3d.exe is not needed for this.
My Graphic card is a XFX 5200 which is the cheap end of the
graphic card market. There are other more complicated ways
of making page flipping work but why bother when this is so easy.
Q: Is it worth the Effort anyway?
A: In most cases yes, Photos are much clearer than Interlaced
but some pictures do tend to flicker a bit. My monitor can only
Handle a mere 85hz which doesn't help, if you can run your
monitor at 100hz it would be less flicker. I have also noticed
that 3D pictures that bring an object forward flicker more than
those that just have depth.
Q: how do I make jps files open with this viewer?
A: In Windows Me/Xp do a right mouse click on a JPS file and
select
Open with, Choose the Stereo test application or browse to
C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvstview.exe and
tick "Always open with this program"
Users of other Operating systems should be able to achieve the
same
thing but its been a couple of years and iv forgotten how :-)
Please note: If no other application i.e. Depthcharge or some
other Jps Viewer
has been installed then Installing the NVIDIA stereo driver will give the
NVIDIA
viewer The Jps association automatically.
Q: How do I make Page
Flipping work on a Lcd / Tft Monitor ?
A: Unfortunately for the time being you cannot and neither can I.
It is a shame as these monitors offer great clarity.
